Long Distance Fun
with Friends and Family
Here is a really fun way to stay in contact with long distance relatives and friends for free. I think we all have noticed that there is a new interest in the game of poker, especially Texas Holdem. But did you know that there are online poker sites that offer “play money” tables/games for absolutely free? These sites are designed nicely and I find socializing with friends and family more enjoyable as we meet to play a game instead of telephoning for a long distance update. My favorite site is Bovada.
I am not recommending the “real money” tables for many reasons including it may change the happy-go-luckiness of your gathering. I am recommending you utilize the play tables to schedule a “play date” with family and friends. For example, I called a homebound relative who lives out-of-state and talked him through the process of signing up on Full Tilt Poker. Then I called my adult children, siblings, cousins, parents and family friends to invite them to play on the same table. It was really a blast. We now have a scheduled game and whoever is available just grabs a sit and we play for a couple of hours.
Here is how I started. I sent all my family and friends an email with the following: Join me at Bovada so we can use their play-money tables to have a free family & friends get together.
I like Bovada because they have “play” casino games that I occasionally use to teach myself how to play certain games for when I go on vacation to places like, Las Vegas. :O)
